Workmanship Guarantee · San Gabriel, CA
2, 5 and 10-Year Workmanship Guarantee
If our work fails during your term, we repair it. You pay nothing for labor or paint.
Qualifying painting work comes with a written workmanship guarantee of 2, 5 or 10 years. The length depends on the surface, the scope and the prep, and your written proposal states it before any work begins. Our Terms of Service call this our workmanship warranty. It is the same promise.
Your guarantee term
Year Guarantee

Our longest term, for qualifying full-prep exterior work.
The clock starts the day we finish the job.
What counts as a failure
Your guarantee covers every surface we prepped and painted, for your full term. If paint fails because of our prep or the way we applied it, the repair is free. We count these as failures:
- Peeling, or paint lifting off the surface
- Blistering or bubbling
- Flaking
- Cracks in the paint itself, as opposed to the wall under it
How a repair works
We visit and look at it. If our workmanship caused it, we prep and repaint that area, and we cover the labor and paint. We match the original product and color if they are still sold. Older paint shifts a little with sun and time, so a repaired patch can look slightly different from the paint around it. We get it as close as we can.
What it does not cover
This guarantee is about our work. It does not cover:
- Everyday wear, like dirt, stains, scuffs and scratches
- Color that fades or chalks with sun exposure and age
- Moisture that gets behind the paint from leaks, plumbing, condensation or drainage
- Cracks that open when a house settles or moves, in stucco, drywall, plaster or wood, including cracks we patched that open again
- Caulk and sealant shrinking, and cracks at joints and seams
- Mold, mildew, rot, rust or insect damage beneath the paint
- Old paint from an earlier job coming loose under our coat
- Anything outside our scope, anything you asked us to paint after we advised against it, and products you bought yourself
- Surfaces that get walked or worked on, like decks, stairs, railings, floors and counters
- Accidents, pets, vandalism, fire, flood or earthquake
- Harsh cleaners, pressure washing, work by other contractors, and touch-ups by anyone but our crew
What we ask of you
- Your invoice is paid in full.
- You report the problem within 30 days of spotting it.
- You let us in at a reasonable time to inspect and fix it.
- The guarantee is for the customer named on your proposal, at that property only. A new owner does not inherit it.
- Our fix is a repair or repaint of the problem area, and the most we will ever owe is the price you paid for the job.
Paint has its own warranty
Paint makers back their own products with a separate warranty. That covers defects in the paint. This guarantee covers our work. If the paint itself is at fault, we help you file the claim with the maker.
Your rights
You keep every right California law gives you, plus the paint maker's own warranty. This guarantee adds to them. It does not replace them.
Your signed proposal is the controlling statement of your guarantee: what it covers, what it excludes and how long it lasts. If this page and your proposal differ, the proposal wins.
Making a claim
Call or text (626) 263-6444, or email ivanspropainting@gmail.com. Share your name, the property address and what you are seeing. Photos help. Then we book a visit to check it out.
